UNMASKING THE CHARISMATIC HERESY "For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths" 2 Timothy 4:3-4 - "False messiahs and false prophets will arise and will perform signs and wonders in order to mislead, if that were possible, the elect" Mark 13: 22 - "The smoke of Satan has entered the Church" Pope Paul VI

NEW AGE NUNS

Beware there are New Age Nuns among us!

Some 'pray' the labyrint

Some are in the SPA business

The Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary are rooted in more than hope. They offer "Sophia’s Gifts of the Spirit" called Hearthstones... among other things they provide The Ministry of Touch!

The Humility of Mary sisters minister in spirituality and wellness programs which include counseling, spiritual direction, Enneagram workshops, and Reiki sessions.” They also offer workshops on Yoga, Film and Discussion: "Is God Green?", TaizĂ© Prayer, and Praying with Clay.

Holistic healing is based on spiritual principles derived from 1000's of years of human traditions. Paul warned us about it: "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world, rather than on Christ." (Col. 2:8)

Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, St. Paul Province

-I have come to call myself a Catholic Protestant..."
-My favorite childhood Halloween costume?! My bunny rabbit pajamas complete with tail and a floppy ears hat!
-Several CSJ's were present and part of my ordination into the United Church Christ, Earth Day 1995. (Sandy Dodson, Consociate Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet, St. Paul Province.)

“I believe that can be found in the new story, the scientific evolutionary story of the universe now available to us. It opens us to a whole new way of SEEING, of coming to know who we are, where we are, how interconnected we are with all beings in the web of life, how our thoughts and actions affect others, even through our energy fields. It is time, I think, to eat of the tree of knowledge.” Do I hear a serpent hissing! (Dorothy Olinger, CSJ)

“The Genesis Story was redeemed for me when I ate the apple. It was about 1980-81.. I was working at our Education Center in Mankato. Tired after a full day, I took an apple from our orchard –a BIG apple, crisp and juicy, and I sat on a log under a Maple tree. As I bit into this great apple -I paused; I am EATING EARTH! Yes, everything in this apple, everything I eat comes from Earth, is Earth. I AM EARTH. Now it was no longer just fact; it was an amazing TRUTH. I had at last eaten of the tree of knowledge, and oh, it was not just good apple, it was good knowledge. It led me to the new story the world was waiting for, the new creation story, to what for me is "truly life- giving. I am so grateful to be on this awesome adventure.” (No Wicca, just a Catholic sister: Dorothy Olinger, CSJ) St. Joseph must be turning over in his grave over this one!

The CSJ sisters also run Wisdom Ways:

“Healing Touch is like centering prayer with a physical action. When I become connected to the Mystery within and without, with the Sacred Energizer, I am in prayer."

“Spend a quiet day, a day away, at lovely Carondelet Center. Join the Sisters of St. Joseph for optional meditation time and brief presentations on varied spiritual practices. Enjoy Wisdom Ways’ lending library of books and audio-tapes, walk the labyrinth and take time to breathe! Open to any interested person. Come and go as you wish.”

“Meditate with your drum, hear the heartbeat of all life, join others in a drumming circle, drum for peace, drum the angels and guardians around you, drum yourself into dance, drum your charkas of balance and healing, drum your daily medicine. It's a great experience.”

“If you can walk you can dance, if you can talk you can sing…”
These words come to us from Africa, where dance is a vibrant part of celebrations of soul, or worship. And so we gather to swing into rhythm, in a contemplative and lively way. We deepen our presence in the body through movement, promoting a reflective inner stance that can help to open us to the fullness of all we experience in everyday life. We can experience our own lives more deeply and therefore also the One we call God." (Wisdom Ways Center for Spirituality)

Beware of Catholic retreat centers offering such hodgepodge of religious and esoteric practices under the disguise of "ancient, sacred traditions" or “holistic health care”. The enneagram, centering prayer, labyrinth, yoga, reiki, tai chi, acupuncture, biofeedback, chiropractic, kinesiology, homeopathy, iridology, massage, 'bodywork', orgonomy, feldenkrais, relexology, rolfing, polarity massage, therapeutic touch, meditation, and visualization are all pagan, occult practices. If you are not careful these new age nuns and monks will help you get in touch with your inner self and cosmic energy in a real hurry; for a fee of course.

Some sobering facts!

Energy Work "play now… pay later"
Healing Touch
Enneagram
Yoga
Reiki
Labyrinth

I used to think that Jesus Christ the Bearer of the Water of Life should be made compulsory reading for every religious, particularly in Catholic retreat centers. Until they started to flog it themselves... it’s the ‘we are OK but watch out for everyone else’ system. The spins are simply endless! You really cannot trust anybody anymore; Obedience to the Magisterium is now more complicated than what it used to be. Watch out, look for catch phrases, stay clear of anything NEW and pray that you will not be led down the garden path by a false apostle!

About Me

Canada
I am a recovering charismatic and a Catholic Orthodox; observing orthopraxis to the best of my ability. I acknowledge what the Church REALLY DOES TEACH; opposed to what some people erroneously say the Church teaches. “Catholic Orthodoxy” is proposed "to conform to the Catholic faith as taught by the Magisterium of the Church. So an "orthodox" person is one who is FAITHFUL to the teachings of the Church, whereas a "heterodox" person is somebody who rejects ANY Catholic dogma. Orthopraxis means "Performing the correct actions". Catholic Orthodoxy is defined by the Catechism: it tells us what we have to TO BELIEVE. Catholic Orthopraxis is denoted by the Code of Canon Law: it spells out what we have TO DO. Because “Truth is not determined by a majority vote" -- Pope Benedict XVI.
